Job Description:
Avenge, Inc. is currently seeking applications from experienced, former US military instructor pilots to teach ISR operations in the Pilatus PC-12 airframe, in Afghanistan. The student-trainees are members of the Afghan military.
Standard rotations are approximately 90 days on with approximately 60 days off. Applicant must be committed to be available to rotate for a minimum of 180 days per year. Candidates must meet our high standard of excellence for safety, piloting skills, crew resource management skills, and customer relations. Because living and working conditions may be austere, candidates must have strong professional interpersonal skills and team player attitude to further the success of the effort.
Job Responsibilities:
Operate aircraft in accordance with applicable regulations, and program/corporate policies and procedures.
Emphasize flight crewmembers safety and customer service. Must have professional communications skills for complex internal- and external-aircraft communications. Flight instructors develop curricula, instruct students in a classroom setting, conduct training flights, determine student proficiency, report on student progress and develop new teaching methods. Flight instructors are responsible for training students in subjects such as aircraft systems, operating procedures, handling emergencies, problem analysis, aircraft navigation, radio operation and aerodynamics and special procedures relating to conduct of ISR operations. Must note and communicate aircraft deficiencies for maintenance review and correction. Must be willing to serve an additional duty as a Safety Official, or Maintenance Pilot.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must possess a current passport
- Must possess a valid state drivers license
- Must read, write, speak and understand English
- Must possess an FAA Class II Medical Certificate
- Must possess an active security clearance at the SECRET level, or higher
- Must have at least 150 hours as a US Military Instructor Pilot in any Fixed Wing aircraft
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior assignment as a Commander, Operations Officer, or Executive Officer in a US Military fixed-wing flight training organization
- 300 hours PIC in turboprop-powered aircraft. Prior PIC experience in Pilatus PC-12 strongly preferred.
- Prior experience as a flight instructor to international students
- Prior experience in military Casualty Evacuation and Combat Support Services flight operations
- US Military Standardization Instructor Pilot or Maintenance Pilot
- Prior OCONUS rotation experience as a combat ISR pilot or IP.
- Active Security clearance at Top Secret level
Note:
Avenge operates a variety of platforms and our staffing needs for each platform fluctuates. Our strong preference is to find volunteers when reassignments are needed, but this method may not always be sufficient. If you apply for a position to operate one platform, we may ask you to volunteer or we may request you to fly another platform. We would provide as much advance notice as possible; however, Avenge retains the ultimate right to assign any employee pilot into any platform at any time.
Pre-Deployment Training Requirement:
New hired rotating OCONUS employees may be required by the program contract to attend a series of training events and medical reviews. Continuing employment will be contingent in part upon the ability of a new hired employee to complete the training events and to complete the medical reviews/requirements and receive approval to rotate into our OCONUS area of operation.
