AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM's Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. Job Summary
AECOM has an exciting opportunity in Afghanistan as a Communication/Electronics Technician on the MOSC-A contract. Performs installation and de-installation of tactical communication systems in various tactical combat vehicles. Performs direct and general support (DS/GS) level maintenance and repair on special electronic devices, including, but not limited to: night vision equipment, receiver transmitters and global positioning systems. Performs on-site technical maintenance for resolution, fault analysis, testing and repairs various vehicle installed systems and equipment. Tests, measures and diagnoses equipment to determine the cause and location of malfunctions, extend of faults and category of maintenance required. Repairs systems, equipment and subassemblies by adjusting, aligning, repairing and replacing defective components. Repairs systems, replaces defective components and performs bench test to verify operations of repaired equipment. Elevates damaged equipment and components to higher level repair activities. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3 years experience in the Electronic Maintenance Field required.
  • Must have extensive experience with TMDE, to include ANIGRM-122, NVG test sets and millimeters.
  • US Army MOS 94E or 94F required.
  • US Military School-trained (ARMY) MOS 35/94E or 94F (MARINES) 2800 and 5900 series (NAVY) ET-1400  series and (AIRFORCE) 2E1X1, 2E1X3 and 2E3X1. Experience with Night Vision/Thermal devices, Blue Force Tracker, NBC equipment, and vehicle communication installations.
  • Must be able to navigate through and understand the use of complex Army technical manuals.
  • Must be able to obtain a secret security clearance prior to employment.
  • Must be able to pass a General Trade Skill PQS within 30 days of hire.
  • Must be able to use test, measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE), i.e. AN/GRM-122 Radio Test Set, to  determine the cause and location of malfunctions, extent of faults and the level of maintenance required.
  • Must have a thorough understating of electronic principles, use of maintenance, electrical and electronic test  equipment, equipment repair, practice in repairing and replacing equipment parts and basic soldiering skills.
  • Successful completion of a four (4) year degree can be substituted for two (2) years of experience; eight (8) years of experience can be substituted for a bachelor's degree, if required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively during a 77 hour work week.
  • Ability to climb and work in tight spaces.
  • Ability to lift 25 Lbs. continuously, 50 Lbs intermittently.
  • Ability to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
  • Ability to work overhead for extended periods.
  • Ability to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
