Overview:
Performs all types of carpentry and masonry work, rough carpentry, finish carpentry, form making, tile laying, block and brick laying, cabinet making, suspended ceiling installation and repair, wood and metal fence installation and repair, etc. Provides carpenter support for other DS2 shops and agencies on the installation
Responsibilities:
- Performs rough and finish carpentry to accomplish work orders. Uses blueprints, sketches, imagination to construct projects. Understands layout and construction techniques. May be called upon to perform masonry work, such as brick/block or tile laying. Installs framing, flooring, doors, windows, roofing, siding, vents, flashings, etc. to accomplish the project
- Performs finish carpentry such as installing trim, cabinetry, ceiling tile, etc.
- Installs flooring of various types and may make minor carpet repairs.
- Installs wallboard and other wall finishes.
- Uses hand tools, power hand tools, mobile lifts and shop equipment to perform the work.
- Periodically perform stand-by duties for after hour's emergency work.
Qualifications:
- Five (5) years carpentry experience
- Must possess excellent oral, written, and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to execute on multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have the ability to deal with the customer and company employees in a courteous, professional, and effective manner.
- Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
