Location: Twentynine Palms, California, United States
Duties: Assist in the development of lesson plans IAW the Systems Approach to Training and Education (SATE) Manual andassist in lesson plan maintenance and update improvements. Provide training in accordance with the Advisor Course CDD/POI and the following specific combat driving skills: Convoy planning and operations training Tactical vehicle planning/employment of HMMWV/Commercial Vehicles (both manual and automatic transmission)/4WD in austere environments; Operating HMMWVs, SUVs,
pickup and other light commercial trucks in a tactical convoy; Operation of commercial/civilian vehicles in a combat environment; Vehicle movement in a combat (IEDs/VBIEDs intensive) environment. Training requires that SMEs be authorized to handle and fire the weapons for safety and demonstration purposes.
Civilian Education: REQUIRED: High School diploma; Demonstrated experience in vehicle dynamics, evasive maneuvers, obstacle navigation, immediate action, backing, and contact skills.
DESIRED: College degree.
Military Education. Certification as Marine Corps Range Safety Officers (RSO) and able to pass RSO/OIC required training and additional training as specified by local commands.
Military/Government Experience: REQUIRED: Possess the appropriate recent extensive military experience in motorized and mounted operations (Infantry Bn CAAT, Infantry Truck Company, USA transportation company); experience in a ground combat or Combat Service Support (CSS) unit;
operational experience within the last four years as of date of hire; familiarity with the Mojave Viper and/or the USMC Advisor Program; currency with TTPs and Lessons Learned from recent real world operations.
NOTE: A candidate with equivalent demonstrated experience will be considered.
DESIRED: E-7 or above with Military instructor experience; experience in curriculum development; experience as an Advisor.
Clearance: REQUIRED: Secret Clearance.
Other: This position may require travel to alternate training venues. Performance of duties will be in a combination of classroom and field conditions.
