Essential Job Functions
· Video Teleconferencing (VTC) Technician shall operate and maintain all RC-EAST owned VTC equipment to include Tandberg 1000, 1700, 3000, 6000, MCU, Cisco Video Conferencing 3500, POLYCOM VSX 8000, and any other type VTC equipment deemed necessary to ensure successful VTC capability.
· Video Teleconferencing (VTC) Technician shall schedule, coordinate and control all RC-EAST VTCs, to include CLASSIFED (SIPR, CENTRIXS-ISAF, NATO SECRET ) and UNCLASSIFIED (NIPR) and any other VTC scheduling and coordination as directed by the COR or his designee.
· Video Teleconferencing (VTC) Technician shall operate, maintain and administer the VTC bridge (MCU, CISCO and Tandberg). The contractor will be required to manipulate the bridge to provide technical support for all VTC circuits attached.
· Video Teleconferencing (VTC) Technician shall perform weekly maintenance on all associated VTC equipment under the contractor's control. Video Teleconferencing (VTC) Technician shall ensure all VTC components, cables, connectors are maintained at all times.
· Video Teleconferencing (VTC) Technician shall schedule, initiate, test, troubleshoot established VTC links and maintain existing and new links. Video Teleconferencing (VTC) Technician shall coordinate with technicians in theater and all over the world to ensure no unscheduled troubleshooting is attempted or uncoordinated network changes occur during a scheduled VTC that could affect the performance of the scheduled VTC.
· Coordinates the installation of highly complex voice and video telecommunications equipment and peripheral devices. Oversees site preparation activities including conduit, power, and signal cable runs.
* Analyzes, tests and repairs voice mail network alarms, file systems, disk drives and networking for multiple network designs, software versions and hardware platforms.
* Integrates, installs, and tests complex telecommunications systems in accordance with applicable standards.
* Provides technical support for a wide variety of telecommunication systems to meet business needs.
* Maintain modems for remotes and wide area linkages to meet business needs.
* Performs highly complex hardware and software configuration and setup of voice and video components. Recommends configuration process changes.
* Documents problems and/or other matters of significance, customer configurations, change requests, and other topics to ensure appropriate response. Makes recommendations to management and. when approved, implements solutions in order to provide high quality customer service.
* Collaborates with support personnel in investigating and resolving complex customer telecommunication network matters of significance.
* Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.

Qualifications:
* Video Teleconferencing (VTC) Technician shall possess a minimum of 1 year working with Video Teleconferencing (VTC) architecture Video Teleconferencing (VTC) equipment common to a contingency operating environment.
* Video Teleconferencing (VTC) Technician must have a minimum of 1 year experience in the direct field of scheduling, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting video teleconferencing equipment. VTC Technicians must have a minimum of 1 year of deployed experience in a contingency environment.
* High school diploma or G.E.D.
* Six or more years of experience in system design or management information systems.
* Experience working with technical and operational capabilities and implementation procedures.
* Experience working with PC communications and configuration of network cards.
* Experience working with network cabling practices and procedures.
