Description
Provide repairs and directed maintenance services for plumbing systems, including but not limited to: back flow preventers, water and gas supply lines, drains, drain lines, waste and vent systems, fixtures, water storage tanks, sump pumps, lift pumps, etc.
Provide a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on guidance to instruct Local Staff on proper repair of designated equipment and systems.
Assist in planning work, obtaining material product data, scheduling shipments, coordinating logistics, and identify requirements to minimize impact on operations.
Respond to emergencies as deemed necessary by the COR.
Conform, at a minimum, to the requirements of current versions of:
A. American Backflow Prevention Association
B. American Society of Plumbing Engineers
C. American Society of Sanitary Engineering
D. American Water Works Association
E. Water Quality Association
F. Manufacturers Recommendations
G. OSHA and other safety regulations.
Perform inspection, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, and other tasks as identified using the following as applicable:
A. As-built drawings.
B. Specifications and operating manuals.
C. Technical data.
D. Historic data on installation and repairs.
E. Warranty information.
-Perform testing to ensure system operation is within design parameters.
-Document all repairs of malfunctioning plumbing systems and replacement of fixtures or components.
Qualifications
Candidate must:
-Be a graduate of a State approved/accredited or military program that provides formal instruction as a Journeyman plumber;
AND
-Have a minimum of ten (10) years experience in the rehabilitation, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of potable water, drain, waste, and vent plumbing systems;
OR
Hold a valid Master license at a State level
Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret Clearance
In addition to one or both of the above, the Plumbing Technician must ALSO have a minimum of two (2) years experience as a plumbing system instructor. This experience should demonstrate the ability to develop lesson plans, organize instructional materials, conduct formal classroom training lectures and provide expert hands-on training in a variety of plumbing system applications.
