Summary: The MRAP Instructor is part of the MRAP Mobile Training Team (MTT) based out of Texarkana, Texas that provides Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Training, consisting of Operator and Field Level Maintenance (OPNET and FLMNET, respectively). Training will be conducted at various Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) locations. In addition, the MRAP Instructor must be able to perform mechanic / retrofit functions, as assigned.

MRAP Instructors are required to travel to the customer’s location. U S Citizenship is required for this position (proof of citizenship and successful completion of security screening will be required).

Essential Responsibilities:
The MRAP Instructor shall be versed in the basic operations of automotive mechanic services in terms of MRAP vehicle/component functions, malfunctions, diagnosis of the probable malfunction cause(s) and knowledge of and skill in auto repairs. The employee shall have classroom experience in providing formal technical instruction related to automotive and/or vehicular mechanics.
Provides vehicle maintenance, supply, warranty details and quality deficiency information to the Training Lead Supervisor on a weekly basis.
Qualified and skilled in operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair functions of the MRAP vehicle in accordance with the Army Regulation 750-1, Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services. Must be able to return the MRAP FOV to a 10/20 status.Successful candidate will have the ability to travel globally with very little supervision.
Maintain expense reports and proper time card documentation.
Performs other tasks as assigned.
Required Skills

Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or GED, required. Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.
The following MRAP University Certification from Red River Army Depot (Texarkana, TX) is required:
Maintenance Training (FLMNET)
Operator Training (OPNET)
Army Basic Instructor Course (ABIC) Certifications or Total Army Instruction (ITC), required.
Class B CDL, required. Class A CDL, preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years heavy vehicle mechanic and operator experience, required.
Active DOD SECRET Security Clearance, preferred.
Must be able to pass a stringent Federal criminal background investigation and be eligible to access military facilities worldwide.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of database software; internet software; spreadsheet software, presentation software, word processing software and MS Office Suite.

Frequently lifts and moves heavier items with the assistance of other workers or with lifting devices such as jacks hoists and cranes.

The work environment varies and includes but is not limited to; office space, equipment rooms, warehouse space, construction zones, field conditions and outdoor environments. Work hours may fluctuate outside of normal duty hours. Travel is required for this position. Candidate must have a valid driver license and three (3) years clean driving record. Employee must follow all Authorized Driver Policy and Procedures regarding approved vehicle usage.
