1. Job Description:
Responsibility: Director shall be responsible for the overall fitness program to include recreational sports and aquatics.

Director shall have a 4-year degree from an accredited college or university with a major study in one or more areas of appropriate field of recreation or 3-years of general experience where candidate has satisfactorily demonstrated an understanding of goals, principles, methods and techniques of fitness, recreational sports and aquatics and have an understanding of the interests and motivations of individuals and groups equivalent where candidate may have gained by education. In addition, he/she must have 5-years of specialized experience as NF-4 of a NAFI or as a middle manager in a similar or equivalent capacity in civilian commercial business.
3. Availability: Director or designated alternate shall be readily available during regular working hours. For contingencies/emergencies, the Manager or designated alternate shall be on-site within 1 hour of notification.
4. Training: Director shall have successfully completed training upon hire in CPR, First Aid, AED, Customer Service equivalent with Navy Star Service Training and general NAVOSH rules and regulations. They must also have fitness trainer certification from a nationally recognized fitness organization. Required certifications shall be updated prior to expiration.
