- Provides overall maintenance and accountability of TSC range equipment.
- Provides classroom instruction and certification courses on the operation, installation, alignment and maintenance of Tactical Engagement Simulation (TES) equipment used to simulate weapons firing to US military personnel and to contract personnel.
- Provides US military personnel with tactical combat training at the Udairi Range Complex and adjacent maneuver training areas on the following Combat Vehicle Weapon Simulation Systems (Ground TES): M1A1 Tank Simulator System (MILES 2000), M2/M3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle System (MILES 2000), Independent Target System (MILES 2000), Mobile Independent Target System (MILES I / II), and M113A3 Armored Personnel Carrier System (MILES 2000)) and US Army Weapons Platforms (e.g. M1A1/M1A2 Main Battle Tank, M2/M3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle, M113 APC, HMMWV (all variations), M16A2/M4 Assault Rifle and other weapons systems as required.
- Instructs US military personnel in fault isolation testing, including the execution of complex technical diagnostics and expeditious fault component replacement.
- Directs US military personnel in the operational verification of weapons systems.
- Performs TES equipment installation/de-installation, testing/fault isolation, failed simulation equipment replacement, and electrical interface connectivity validation.
- Inspects, inventories, and maintains accountability for all weapons systems equipment.
- Performs operator level maintenance on equipment.
Minimum Tangible Qualifications:
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and Kuwait Driver’s License.
- Must be able to maintain USG Network access privilege.
- Must pass annual physical IAW CRC standards.
- Must be physically capable of lifting 75 pounds a vertical distance of four feet and carrying this weight a horizontal distance of 25 feet.
- Must be able to obtain license to operate material handling equipment (MHE) and 5-Ton Truck (M934) with trailer.
- Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, dusty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
- Work schedule: 48 hours per week, 0700-1600 Saturday-Thursday
- Knowledge of automated supply systems is required.
- Knowledge of safety, management practices, and procedures involving equipment is required.
- Knowledge of Army supply system including DLIS FEDLOG is required.
- Knowledge of safety and hazardous materials management procedures and application is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA and 3 – 5 yrs of related experience.
- Four (4) years of experience working with MILES and Tactical Engagement Simulations systems operation, inspection, issue, accountability, and maintenance/troubleshooting is required.
- Master Gunner certification in M-1 tank or M-2 BFV is preferred.
- Working knowledge and understanding of MILES I, MILES II or MILES/TES 2K equipment is required.
- Familiarity with SAAB Simulations Systems (e.g. PGS) is required.
- An in-depth understanding of platform specific armament, weapons sighting and weapons control systems functionality and interconnectivity is required.
- After training and exposure, a general knowledge of training and instructional coordination is required.
