Job Description
This position will support the F-16 CLS Program in Iraq.
Duties: Interpret and/or translate written and spoken information from a source language to a target language with a high degree of efficiency; Arabic to English & English to Arabic.
- Check translations to ensure that they are accurate and remain consistent throughout translation(s)

- Listen to speakers' statements in order to determine meanings and to prepare translations
- Proofread, edit, and revise translated materials
- Read written materials and rewrite material into specified languages
- Refer to reference materials such as dictionaries, lexicons, encyclopedias, and computerized terminology banks as needed to ensure translation accuracy
- Translate messages simultaneously or consecutively into specified languages maintaining message content, context as much as possible
- Communicate with people outside of the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. The information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail.
- Follow ethical codes that protect confidentiality of information

The site will still be under construction at the time of the first arrivals. The first several months of this assignment will consist of site set-up activities, to include but not limited to light to medium construction activities such as assembling warehouse shelving, and furniture and moving maintenance equipment in all areas of the maintenance complex. Candidates must be willing and able to participate in all set-up activities, assist with receiving and storing aircraft parts, supplies and support equipment. Environmental/weather conditions can be extreme during different seasons. Team members will be confined to the base location which will be a secure compound. Flexibility, a positive attitude and excellent people skills are a must.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/INFO: Candidate must have a college degree in one or more languages, in addition to fluency in native language.
The ideal candidate must have the ability to work independently, must be a self-starter, possess strong leadership skills, and must be able to communicate effectively with peers, customers, and senior management. Must be able to work with foreign national customers. Must read, write and speak English and Arabic fluently. Must have or be able to rapidly secure a DOD secret clearance. Assignment location is in Iraq.

Basic Qualifications
Interpreter/Translator English to Arabic and Arabic to English.

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access)
