The Facilities Engineering Trainer will implement and operate programs, practices, and procedures for developing optimal utilization of personnel. Design and administer programs to train all levels of personnel on facility maintenance operations, and develop organizational facility management. When necessary, develop tests and visual aids, coordinate class arrangements, conduct training classes, develop criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities, and develop train the trainer classes. Develop programs and practices to identify developmental needs including preparing
personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments. If required, may use technical experts to assist in training. This is a salary, exempt position with a base salary and when in Afghanistan hazard and hardship differentials. This position requires successful completion of IRDO, Individual Replacement Deployment Operations. The Facilities Engineering Trainer must be willing to work and live in Afghanistan with an understanding that they could potentially be re-assigned to any location in Afghanistan based upon the needs of the U.S. Government. All tours are unaccompanied. Standard will be to conduct training six (6) days per week for up to twelve (12) hours per day while in Afghanistan.



Duties Include:

Serve as trainer for Operation and Maintenance (O&M) to include, but not limited to the following

o Train facility inspections and repair to include submitting work order requests for repairs or minor new work.

o Train HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical management.

o Train power generation maintenance and repair.

o Train Key Control with proper documentation.

o Provide training in the preparation of Statements of Work (SOW), Performance Work Statements (PWS), cost estimates, solicitation for bids, and contracting.

o Provide training on Energy Awareness and train counterpart in developing and enforcing an energy conservation plan.

o Provide training on Fire Safety and train counterpart in developing and enforcing a standard operating procedure for Fire Prevention and Protection.
Facilities Engineer trainer will report to the Team Lead as well as Program Manager located at Camp Morehead
  • Trainers will be responsible for regularly interacting with US military personnel
  • Based on circumstances that are unique to their work locations, trainers will be responsible for making on the scene decisions as to how to execute the curriculum
  • Along with their local site managers, trainers will be responsible for assessing how well the ANA students have learned the coursework Required Skills

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 4 years of related work experience
  • Possess a basic understanding of Microsoft Visio or similar design software
  • Must be proficient with using MS Office Skills and be able to operate Personal Computer (PC) Skills
  • Possess a basic understanding of Microsoft Visio or similar design software
  • Excellent Interpersonal and People Skills
  • Possess Strong Oral and Written Communication Skills and be Able to Communicate with Local National Contractors
  • Good Organizational Skills
  • Must be willing to deploy and live on forward operating bases operated by Afghan National Army under austere conditions without regular U.S. PX and Commissary facilities.
  • Must be willing and able to travel outside of protected areas via military convoys or MILAIR, and wear protective clothing and equipment as required. In the conduct of their training contractors may encounter hostile forces.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. SECRET Security Clearance



Desired Qualifications:
  • Prefer some Special Operations background
  • Prefer previous experience training and advising foreign military soldiers Required Experience
  • Must have been an E7 or higher US Military Engineer with an MOS equal to US Army 21 series with experience in the construction field to include carpentry, power generation, high voltage distribution, low voltage electrical systems, HVAC, and plumbing.
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of related experience. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement
  • Valid U.S. Passport.
