Orbital ATK Special Mission Aircraft, a division of Orbital ATK Defense in in Ft Worth, TX is seeking a Field Service Technician for an overseas assignment. Opportunities will support multiple countries and platforms.
Field Service Technicians – Avionics Job Description
- Field Service Position to support Orbital ATK CLS programs. Perform Field Support Representative duties for deployed aircraft - provide training if required, perform system-level troubleshooting, communicate with operators and engineering support organizations.
- Provide support for logistics issues related to supported programs - spares inventory and repair of equipment (shipping and receiving).
- Provide in-the-field assessment of potential system improvements and provide operator/customer feedback on problems and suggested improvements.
- Support integration and test activities in the lab, on the ground, and in flight-test(s).
- Provide sensor operator and image analyst perspective to Engineering and Program Management. Support training development for operators and analysts.
- Experience in reading and interpreting manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing damaged wiring, malfunctioning or damaged components.
- Experience in inspecting airframe and engine electrical and avionic systems utilizing applicable maintenance requirement cards and maintenance instruction manuals for defects and malfunctions.
- Possess a well-rounded maintenance background.
- Represents group with team leaders, supply personnel, A&P mechanics, pilots and internal and external customers.
- Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
- Must be able to work in a team environment, have a positive attitude, be a self-starter, and work well with others.
- FCC GENERAL LICENSE and/or FAA A&P LICENSE desired - Avionics/Electronics experience is required.
- One (1) year OCONUS experience preferred. OIF or OEF experience desired.
Requirements:
- Position will require CONUS/OCONUS travel, shift-work in addition to scheduled and unscheduled overtime and weekend/holiday work.
- Must be willing to deploy for required length of time to country based on assigned contract.
- Must have current US passport to support assigned contract.
- Must have minimum of five (5) years recent avionics/electronics maintenance experience indicated below with military or civilian special programs.
- Experience maintaining mission systems on ISR Aircraft similar to RC-26 or Cessna 208, Scathe View, AC-235 or 295, King Air or similar systems.
- Be familiar with operation and maintenance of MX-15 Systems, AAR/ALE 47 System, and Hellfire components.
- Be familiar with communications equipment, imagery storage and retrieval and RF-5800 mission radio set.
- Understand concept of operations of video downlink systems and operation of networks.
- Must have a good RF background and be familiar with test equipment used to maintain above mentioned systems.
- Need to be capable of properly installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing specialized mission support equipment as related to assigned contract.
- Have the physical ability to lift and handle heavy material and understand how to handle/maintain hazardous materials.
- Possess analytical ability, read and interpret schematics/wiring diagrams.
- Possess basic typing skills and computer knowledge.
- Cessna Caravan, AC-235 or 295 and/or King Air experience is preferred.
- Other duties as required.
