This is a Trades position located at the Union 3 Compound in Baghdad, Iraq.
The Carpenter performs the carpentry duties necessary to maintain in good repair building woodwork and equipment such as bins, cribs, counters, benches, partitions, doors, floors, stairs, casings, and trim made of wood. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

Duties:
Planning and laying out of work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions, using a variety of carpenter's hand tools, portable power tools and standard measuring instruments
Making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work
Selecting materials necessary for the work
Cut, shape, and assemble wooden articles or set up and operate a variety of woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, and mortisers to surface, cut, or shape lumber or to fabricate parts for wood products
Prepare and submit detailed reports on carpentry projects for the LCC Supervisor
Performs other duties and activities as directed

Qualifications:

Education:

o A high school diploma (or GED). A vocational diploma in carpentry or completion of an Apprentice program with a Journeyman certificate is required
o State License or Certification from home state Or equivalent combination of verifiable education and experience.

Experience:
o The LCC Carpenter must have a minimum of three years compatible carpentry experience at the Journeyman level, preferrably in an overseas environment
o Must be capable of independently completing trim, window installations, framing, and finishing

Security Vetting: Active DOD or DOS Secret security clearance
Language Skills: Professional English communication skills, both oral and written
Citizenship: US Citizenship is required for this position
Medical: Favorable passage of a drug screen and physical examination

Desired:
Previous experience working with PAE preferred
Previous out of home country experience is highly desirable and previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions is a plus
Strongly preferred is extensive experience with air cooled chillers with screw compressors

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of ALL principles and processes involved in supporting Carpentry functions at an overseas facility
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer services
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules
Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Expert computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team
Must have the ability to be innovative and be an agent for change
Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information
