 Description
The M1A1 Hull Trainer shall train Iraqi Army (IA) maintenance units within the IA Divisions, Level I and II Field Work Shops and Level III Medium Work Shop to identify deficiencies and perform correct maintenance procedures on M1A1 Main Battle Tanks (MBT) to include on-board direct support tasks on
the suspension systems, steering systems, hydraulic systems, auxiliary power units, fire extinguisher/suppression systems, gas particulate systems. Assist IA maintenance units with maintenance instruction and improvement of performance measurements
· Provide training and assistance to IA maintenance units at a minimum in the following areas:
o Level I, II and III (10-30 level) maintenance on all IA M1A1 MBT hull and chassis.
· POI development for basic and advanced maintenance courses.
· Diagnoses and troubleshoots malfunctions, performs organizational maintenance and on-board direct support tasks on the suspension systems, steering systems, hydraulic systems, auxiliary power units, fire extinguisher/suppression systems, gas particulate systems on the M1/M1A1 MBT.
· Diagnoses and corrects malfunctions of various subsystems, performs on-board direct support tasks i.e., major assembly replacement
Tests batteries for serviceability.
Prepares M1A1 MBT for operation under abnormal conditions by sealing, waterproofing, and servicing with special fuel and lubricants.
Performs preventive maintenance on tools, repair parts, assigned vehicles and shop equipment adjusts operating mechanisms.
Replaces repair parts and components as outlined in the appropriate maintenance allocation charts.
Tests and operates vehicles and equipment as required and observes for evidence of abnormal operation.
Operates and assists in the operation of M1A1 MBT in conjunction with maintenance and recovery operation.
Interprets schematic diagrams.
Determines extent of corrective action and repair parts procedures required.
Obtains replacement parts from maintenance parts supply section.
Provides technical guidance, training and assistance to Iraqi Army Vehicle level I, II and III M1A1 MBT mechanics.

· The M1A1 Hull Trainer will report directly to the Master Maintenance Trainer.
· Trainers will be responsible for regularly interacting with US military personnel
· Based on circumstances that are unique to their work locations, trainers will be responsible for making on site decisions as to how coach, teach and mentor their IA counterparts

· Must be willing to work and live in Iraq and they could be further assigned to any location in Iraq based upon the needs of the U.S. Government
· Must be willing to work in hostile areas
· Must be willing to deploy and live on FOBs operated by US Forces under austere conditions without regular U.S. PX and Commissary facilities
· Must be willing and able to travel outside of protected areas via military convoys or MILAIR, and wear protective clothing and equipment as required. In the conduct of their training contractors may encounter hostile forces.
· The M1A1 Hull Repair Trainer shall have a minimum of four years experience as a M1A1 systems repairman (63A or X) (or USMC equivalent).
·
Desired Qualifications:
· Prefer previous experience on a US Army Maintenance Assistance and Instruction Team (MAIT) or similar inspection and assessment team organization.
· Prefer previous experience at a Depot Level (-40 level) repair
· Prefer previous experience training and advising foreign military soldiers

US Security Clearance Required : Secret
Schedule : Full-time
Shift : Day – 1st
Travel : Yes, 10% of the time
