Job Description
PAE is currently seeking Deputy Station Managers to support stability operations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The Deputy Station Manager is responsible to ensure the overall and efficient functioning of all operational areas during the daily operations at the Air Terminal Unit.
Supervise all Air Terminal operations and activities, including contract compliance, training, Quality Control (QC), safety, security, environmental, and other technical aspects of the Contract. The ATOC will evaluate and interpret operational workloads and capabilities of airport operations and apply necessary action in order to ensure optimal performance in the following areas of responsibility: Tarmac / Ramp Operations, Passenger and Cargo Services, Ground Support Operations, Emergency Crash & Rescue Services, Meteorological Services, Dangerous Goods Handling and Air Terminal Aviation Security Services.
Investigate and report on all accidents and incidents. Maintain a roster of available personnel and qualified sub-contractors, in accordance with approved Augmentation Plans, for hire or recall in the case of augmentation to meet contingency requirements. The ATOC will assist and perform duties in the Air Terminal Ground Operations. Air Terminal Passenger Services and Air Terminal Cargo Centre when required.
Organization Description
The Deputy Station Manager must have 7 years supervisory experience in air transportation functions and experience in all of the following areas:
Aircraft load planning, to include: weight and balance computation, passenger / baggage and cargo handling.
Sound knowledge of cabin loading, handling / loading of hazardous materials and aircraft palletisation.
Knowledge on apron handling related matters to include apron safety, equipment movement and general administration of apron activities.
Passenger services operations to include processing, security, boarding, and baggage handling and vehicle operations.
Experience in aircraft transient alert arrival/ departure procedures to include marshaling, blocking, grounding, safety procedures and use of related equipment / vehicles.
Minimum of ten years of experience in Aviation Ground Handling Operations
Valid certification in Dangerous Goods Acceptance (IATA).
Excellent oral and communication skills.
Valid driver’s License.
Good computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel).
Maintain a strong discipline for Air Safety.
Experience working in Africa will be an advantage.
