Job Summary
The Logistics Director oversees all logistics in support of constructing and providing operations and maintenance for bases in assigned area of responsibility.

Principle Accountabilities
Direct logistics for construction, supply chain management, DFACs, bulk and retail fuel, camp transportation, container management, class I,II, III(P), IV, V, IX warehousing and Supply Support Activity (SSA), and water purification operations
Provide technical direction to site logistics managers and ensure compliance with SOW requirements
Facilitate effective communications throughout organization
Cross level assets (using on-hand personnel and assets, ensure sufficient capabilities are in place) to cover surge and demobilization requirements
Oversee internal logistics requirements necessary to support operations
Work closely with procurement and property management sections to ensure material and equipment are delivered to end users
Oversee project maintenance program to ensure equipment necessary to support operations is fully mission capable
Coordinate with military logistics units and commanders to validate priorities and ensure customer expectations are exceeded
Perform annual training as required for efficiency and compliance
As available, develop or train personnel on all aspects of logistics
Oversee support needed for audits conducted pertinent to project controls
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
Working knowledge of ground transportation, freight forwarding, military supply operations, and distribution administration
Skilled in analyzing and evaluating DOD logistics systems, reports, quality control, and traffic management functions
Skilled in organizing and supervising movement, deployment, and redeployment of personnel and equipment in a military and joint environment with civilians
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Knowledge in applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Proficient in Microsoft Office software
Experience & Education
Minimum twelve (12) years experience including ten (10) years in military logistics or similar work with at least two (2) years in an OCONUS/Combat Zone management role in transportation, supply, supply chain management, and/or warehousing
Evaluation experience in site capability and limitation for depots, truck terminals, air terminals, water ports/terminals, warehouses, fuel distribution systems, DFACs, and road networks
Proven technical experience in interpretation and use of logistics automated systems
Experience as liaison representative between Military and other military services, commercial agencies, and host nation elements
Bachelor Degree in logistics or management discipline; may substitute two (2) years experience in related field for each year of college
Prefer Master Degree
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
Travel
Ability to travel domestically and internationally
