Help Desk - Network / VSAT Engineer Afghanistan

Location: Afghanistan

Position Summary:

Experience working with VSAT satellite systems required. Knowledge of and experience with government and military customers extremely helpful. Must be able to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment. Must possess excellent communications skills and be able to interact with a variety of people including customers, vendors and other employees. Knowledge of and experience with IP networks and VoIP helpful. Must exercise independent judgement.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Job Responsibilities:

• - Prefer someone with Global VSAT Forum Level 3S certification.
• - Candidates with MS desktop administration experiences are preferred
• - MSCDA certification.
• - Cabling (ISP/OSP) experience is a plus.
• - Candidate should have Cisco router and switch configuration exposure.
• - Will provide VSAT training if strong otherwise.
• - HS graduate
• - 2-3 years experience.
• - Secret clearance highly desired; ability to obtain clearance is required.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• - Ability to maintain a high level of visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time as required by preparing and analyzing data, figures, computer terminals, etc.
• - Ability to manipulate necessary office equipment, computer software, hardware & equipment.
• - Ability to perform the following physical activities: stooping, reaching, standing, walking, feeling, talking and hearing.
• - Requires working in both internal and external environments subject to variation in temperature.
• - Work is classified as sedentary with the requirements of exerting up to 70 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
• - Possible significant travel required from FOB to FOB
